Pine View this weekend.
#1
We are going camping up at pineview for what was supposed to the Ogden valley balloon fesitval which was cancelled due to lack of corporate sponsors. [crazy]
all that means to me is that when i get up at 5 am i get to go fishing instead of going to watch them blow up balloons[cool]

Any advise on where to get the kids on the lake to figure out a mess of crappies? we will be at the anderson camp ground and we will have the fishing boat up there as well.

I think my girls would really enjoy catching a crapie or two!! I am assuming that they are going to be in a late summer pattern suspended over deeper water with access to good feeding areas in the shallows or near weed lines for feeding when the temps/light goes down a bit?? i have never really targeted crappies and the few i have caught were while fishing in idaho for sturgeon.

so what kind of baits in what colors? are we trolling? or using slip bobbers and small lures, or just bait?

thanks in advance for any info you can give. this will probably be the last camping trip of the year as far as fishing goes. i think there is one more in the Uintas for just camping out in the woods kind of deal. not near any lakes really so I want the girls to end the summer fishing with dad with a bang and get them into a bunch of pan fish.... that could be 5 in our boat [crazy]

crappi have been hit and miss there for me this year, there hasnt been a particular depth or lure that has worked for me consistently. The ones i have caught have been on rattlin raps, different tube jigs(not on the same jig more than twice), and worms sent out to drift while in the tube. I will probably be going there this thursday and will post a report if i do.
