I have been craving some stream fishing, but can't find a decent spot to go. I have tried parts of the Bear River and the Portneuf. ---- Moss is the boss where I went!! Is there some secret spots to go on these?
Does someone have some ideas on where to try and some access points??
PM would probably be best for the small streams.

I am looking for some small streams in the east Idaho because I currently can't go up into the mountain areas I usually go to for high lakes and small streams.
I have a breathing problem and can't be around smoke at all. Right now there are two small fires going (I hope they are out soon) one is above the Fairfield area and one in the Stanley area. Those don't put out much smoke that you would notice, but enough to keep me out of the areas west of there for awhile. They are getting less active so maybe in a week or two!!
Meantime I am looking for some small fishies closer to home.

Birch creek and or Beaver creek just above spencer in the old rail road canyon.
The scenery in the canyon is fantastic, and you should have no problem catching a mess of Brooks, and Bows.

Ill x2 Birch Creek and up around Stanley, some of the best small stream fishing in the Idaho. Birch is a bit out of the way but its worth the drive. Clear, cold, and chucked full of Brookies and bows. Stock up on renegades 16 and 18s if you go its all you need. Had plenty of 60+ fish afternoons on birch.

You could try Rainy Creek in Swan Valley, Bitch Creek in Felt, the camas creeks in Kilgore, Birch Creek around Lone Pine.
There are a ton of places to try. It is just trial and error. One day I will do well on a creek and the next have a terrible day nearby.

There's always The Cub River between Franklin and Preston. There are brookies and bows up higher and some nice cutts down lower. The Logan is fishing well right now if you're willing to go south of the border.
