Pics of a big sturgeon
#1
Here are some Pictures of Bug’s big fish.

We went out to Buhl after sturgeon, we only had a few bites during the night but. At about 0200 Jon hooked a good one

This fish was 88 inches from nose to tail and around 29 inches around. We figured some where in the 200 lbs range. It took Jon about 25 minutes to get in, and that was with his drag set at max. When we got the fish in and we were looking at his line, we had to cut out about 20 feet of line due to huge nicks from where the fish scraped the line against the rocks.

This was a fish worth get in the water for.

Holy cow - good thing you had a flash. That's a beeeuut! I've seen some fishing shows covering those prehistoric monsters, and that's something right there - I don't care who ya are!!

What a great resource, what a great fishery (feel like the guy from Angling Adventures...Terry Fisher?).

Pardon my ignorance, but where is Buhl? Is that a river? What kind of bait-tackle-rig do you use? Tell me worms.... it's always down to the worms....
Never [#ff0000]TARGETTED [/#ff0000]Sturgeon - but what a fine adventure that must be. Nicely done on a fine fish.

Hey - if you didn't see it, you should check out this video Kentofnsl posted on the Utah boards. I died laughing! We joke about this kind of sh%# and this guys off running a sturgeon - from a float tube!

I love that! I watched a program about some Canadian dudes that hooked 6'er from a tube and Fly gear.
Those are great Sturgeon. Been a long time for me. I have to find the pix of my Gramps and his 6' er.
Thanks so much for the post and pictures...JEALOUS!!!

That is a beautiful fish!

They are sure strange creatures.

This is one of my favorite little known facts about them:

Not trying to start anything here, just a personal observation about the video. I think what Winkleman did was stupid and unethical. Talk about tiring out a fish for no other reason than to be on camera. Just sayin.
