Rookie info for Mexico surfcasting
#1
Hi everyone
going to mexico for a week in november for a wedding
supposed to be good surfcasting

I am looking for a rod/reel that will be adequate for cheap.....
100 to 150 is all I can afford.

I salmon fish the fraser so I am used to using a 10.5 ft rod with a levelwind and 3 to 4 oz sinkers.
Got 2 sockeye on 8 casts after work yesterday and put 8 in the freezer last week!! biggest run on the Fraser River since 1972, first sockeye opening we have had in 4 years!!!!

I need the rod to be packable, multipiece or telescoping for flight. I do not want a 2 piece.

Gear and fishing tips would be appreciated as well

I think there is barracuda, sailfish and the regular shore fish for the northeast coast of Mexico but what do I know.

Should I bring a separate smaller rod for bonefish?? 2 years ago we saw them right along shore while we where swimming.

Thanks everyone and regards
