Henry's lake
#1
Haven't seen much on Henry's so I will post my trip up there yesterday, the weather up till 2pm was great!

My friend and I committed to mostly fly fishing...

Earlying on at targhee we each hooked one fish...california leach and cb patterns...then at duck creek i fished all the BS flies in the book....no takers...I set up a indicator setup and had one taker on the patriot chronomid....

most people taking fish were doing good with bait...fly fishermen did not seem to be landing much if anything....

cant wait to go back! I reccomend spinners and bait at this time....

good luck everyone...

Thanks for the report. I know both of those places have been fished very hard in the last couple of weeks I've heard both good and bad. I think the pressure on those two creeks might have dispersed the majority of the fish.

thanks for the report...it's been a while since I've even logged on and I was just thinking about Henry's....so thanks again. I would like to get out there tomorrow but can't find any takers to go with...boat is too much hassle by myself.

you can always contact me if searching for a 2nd person early week and some weekends. I'd be more than willing to split gas and give a hand for more education on Henry's!

Ironrod called be Monday morning, and I joined him for a trip to Henry's. It was a great day but the fishing was slow. I think between the winds Sunday and a little bit of a cold snap it really broke the weed beds apart. most of the lake was full. the shoreline in the Cliffs section was covered with green and lots of huge pods floating in the lake. We got stuck on a couple with our kicker motor. We moved out into the middle of the lake to get away from the weeds. We had a couple of hook ups and boated one fish. It was still a great day out on the water. What away to finish my long weekend. Thanks again Ironrod!!!! The fishing should just get better and better the rest of the way out!

Thanks for confirming my suspicion on the conditions at Henrys. I was thinking about it and decided to go South bass fishing.

Hey Match, sounds like you have it figured out. We fished hard Saturday morning and again in the evening. Got roughed up a little by the windstorm and big surf. For a moment or two I was wondering if we'd make it to dock, but we cheated the reaper this time. [Wink]
The fishing was better Monday, in fact the water started to clear by midday. A couple of nice hybrids and a pretty good brook, but the best of the day was a 7+ hog of a cutthroat boated by my brother-in-law. Got him on a brown leech. Henry's will only get better from here on!
