Crayfish still active at strawberry?

Going up tomorrow and wanted to know if they were still active with this cold weather we have had. If anyone has been up there recently please let me know.

Your good. I was up there last week and got as many as I wanted. Try right at the strawberry marina ramp and all along for 100 yards in either direction. Some huge dads in there. I got about half with claws so big they rivled the tails. Good times. Take a net and walk the shallows, they are quick but I was faster. []

Cool thanks. I have a couple of spots that always do really good at night and i use the chicken leg approch with nets and traps. Usually end up with a five gallon bucket full or more. Thanks again!

Went with grandkids, 2 to 15 years old, last Saturday and they caught plenty. The funny thing was they were almost, with out exception, big. I took the tails off a bunch till I had a couple pounds of tails on ice and then they just caught them and threw them back. We like to put a string on some chicken skins and fat, that we trim from our friers, with a little weight to get it down and wait a little then pull it up and net them before the reach the top. They keep busy with 6 or 8 strings. Often pulling up as many as 8 or10 Dads in one netting. They love it. We do it each year.
