Sun 9/12 - East Canyon
#1
We decided to play at East Canyon this morning. Started out fishing slimers trolling right out of the marina to the left (south?) toward the highway. We mostly fished pop gear (Mack's) and crawlers as well as needlefish (flo. green) behind jet divers. We marked fish between about 10 - 45 feet down catching most between 20-30 feet. One spot was very hot; never passing it without a hookup! We caught several dozen between the two of us, having to cull through many with the worms to get a limit of clean trout. Biggest bow went maybe 1.5 lbs. Their flesh was decent color and should smoke up well! We also fished for smallies ending up with 3 fish to over 3 lbs. (might've gone 4 maybe). It was a large fish for that lake! We fished plastics and cranks but all were caught on Traps right next to shore near deep water. Too bad we could not get into them better. Water is dropping fast and loaded with algae. It was a very nice day to be on the lake today!
