well i went to pentwater saturday and sunday , inshore fishing was a little different , you either cought them big or little . i fished the longbridge roadway saturday evening just before and after there fireworks display . saw three large walleyes get hooked and all three got away ( one was mine ) / as for the rest of the time gobies , sculpin and white bass up to the 3" range , i made the coment that on my next trip over i was bringing my aquarium fish net to land these fish , it sent the group into a laugh .
sunday morning was spent at the pentwater pier , man , clean and pleasent ! not a fish to be cought because of all the boat traffic , just a bunch of friendly people , i was invited out for some big lake fishing free of charge but politley declined .later as the guy returned to the cleaning station i could have hicked myself ! he limited out on his salmon for the day within a few hours . as for the honey hole where they were cought , that remains his secret . but most boats were heading out to the south .
on my way back to camp i passed the same bridge i fished on the previous evening just in time to see one of the same guys there land a rather nice 15" yellow bullhead . i told him about the master anglers award program and where to apply . hope he gets it , really nice fish .
earlier in the week a 18" and a 27 " coho were caught at this bridge by one of the workers at the camp , his bait is a closley guarded secret too .
i had a really good time there , it's well worth the trip ! just wait till the fall run , yee-haa !
