Early Doe
#1
Anyone go out for the early doe season this past week?

I went out over the weekend. Cleaned out all the spider webs and stinkbugs out of the blind.

Didn't see any does but I did see one 6 point buck on the edge of the swamp. He stayed just inside the swamp but he did give me a good look through the scope. Lucky for him it's only does right now. Not a huge rack but looked to be nice size deer anyway.

Going to head out for one last chance tonight.

Went out this Saturday and danged if the deer were traveling a trail I didn't spot .
Well Sunday had me moving stands to those locations .
I'll be taking the kid out Tuesday evening to get her first buck , I hope they don't change routes again .
Has anyone else filled a tag ?

No tags filled here yet.

Nothing on the early doe... and still nothing with the bow.

Farmers (including ourselves) are starting to clear fields in the area so things should pick up and we should start seeing more deer. To many corn fields to hide in right now.

I am seeing ALOT of turkeys. Might have to pic me up a fall turkey tag or maybe even waterfoul and get me a goose.

Drew a bead on one last night and just didn't get a clean target , started to ease off and then a loud pop like a .22 going off , my string snapped and darn near felt like I sprained my wrist from the bow recoil !
$32.00 this afternoon and i'm back playing bambi bingo tomorow .

Dave , no other spots near by?

all the other spots I have to deal with horse riders.

I am pretty much looking for excuses right now,, I broke my collar bone, so drawing back a bow is a bit tidious, and I dont have the bucks for a crossbow..
