Good Start to Bird Season
#1
I know it opened last weekend but I just haven't taken time to post but here is a picture of opening day chukar season and some Ruffed grouse. My young dog, which is a 2 year old German Wirehair is coming on strong. It seems a though we had a real good hungarian hatch and a decentchukar hatch this year.

What area of the state are you hunting?

I was hunting last weekend on a family friends property south of Downey and only saw one small covey of huns which is markedly less than what we saw last year. We saw a few Sharpies and a bunch of young Pheasants so October should be a better hunting month for me if they all stick around.

Hopefully the huns were just really good at hiding last weekend and we'll get into them this weekend during the Sharp-tail opener.

P.S. I don't see a picture

Chukar on the Jarbidge and Bruneau was a total train wreck. Ron

For the last few years there is just no sign, no calling, no nothing. The sheep hunters I ran into said they didn't run into any either. It has been tough out there. Ron
