Powell Sept 19- 26
#1
Just returned from Powell where we had a great trip. We launched from Bullfrog, and headed South, even tho the reports all said the fishing was better North. Wife and I on our boat and another couple on their boat, they had never been to Rainbow bridge and wanted to go, so--. We fished a couple hours every day and wandered down lake as far as Dangling Rope. Never seen a single boil, although we managed to catch 8 kinds of fish,LMB, SMB, striper, walleye, bluegill, crappie, catfish and a carp. Water temp was from 75 to 79, and air temp from 85 to 98. We caught the LMB and Smb on shad raps and grubs cast along rocky points, also picking up an occasional walleye and one crappie. Caught catfish and stripers from back of boat in evenings with cut anchovies. Probably averaged 25 - 30 fish a day, and could have done better if we had spent more time fishing. We saved enough for a fish fry on the lake, and one when we got home. Bummed about no boils, but a great trip anyway!
