Fishing has been OK this week. The Striper bite early is hit or miss but when on, it can be outstanding. I'm throwing a few different baits to draw their attention. Pencil Poppers, Magnum Pop-R's, Hollow Belly Swimbaits, and a High Powered Herring (slow sink). The HPH has been the best bait to actually get the Stripers/Hybrids to bite, most of the other baits have produced followers and boils and that's about it. The fish on the HPH have just exploded on it, most we had no idea were even there, they come out of nowhere and it's a vicious bite. This bite seems to last only approx 2 hours and it's over for the line-sides. As always there are some spots mixed in with the line-sides so you never know when the big spot will bite too.....

After the morning I'm switching to drop shots, jig head worms, and football jigs. 12-15 spots through the mid-day seems about par for now, but it's still a great time to catch a really big spot. The deep school drop shots/spoons will be here before we know it for those who enjoy that. Here's a few pics from Tuesday, all three were caught on the HPH.

Drop me a line if anyone wants to get after a big salty or big spot. I have days open.

LB
