[#6000bf]Well I finally got a day off and decided to take my son and my little old 14' aluminum boat out today fishing at American Fork.[/#6000bf]

[#6000bf]This was my first time fishing out of a boat as this is the first year I have fished Utah lake and its a great place to fish but I have alot to learn about cat fishing for sure.[/#6000bf]

[#6000bf]We started out of American Fork harbor fishing the reeds and it was FISH ON for my son [cool]and FISH ON and OFF for me[
] Well that was ok no biggie I love to see him catching fish.[/#6000bf]

It was a really hot bite at first for cats but then just shut down Probably because we have alot to learn about catfish and Utah lake but thats all good that just means we have to get down there more fishing[] We had 6 more cats on but got off before we could land them and quite a few bites early.
Well maybe it wasnt the hottest day fishing but it was enough for us to get some great pictures and enjoy our first boating adventure out on UL. It was really calm with only a slight breeze all day now and then.
But the Powerboats were out in full force. It never fails we are fishing in 2 to 3 feet deep water and have idiots come up wakeboarding, sking and just doing the fly by close enough for me to throw the anchor in theit boat[mad]. they have to whole lake and were coming by way to fast and close and look at us with a look of what are you doing parked in our skiing lane.
Well I guess thats the way it is and is always going to be but that wont stop us from going back fishing. We did have one huge boat coming down past us but shut down to an idle until they got passed us and the others out fishing then opened it back up. Man that was really nice not having to rock and roll over those big wake coming in.[] Well all in all a great day on the water and looking forward to getting back down there as soon as we can.

]....That harbor is always like that on the weekends, but during the week it is way nice....I just cant make too many during the week trips out. It is also getting cooler, so that will stop soon...or at least slown down.
