Anyone been up to the Gorge lately?
Wondering how the Mack fishing has been. Thinking about heading there soon. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty new at this . . . but . . . I think Jacksonlaker is just bored because "his" lake is now closed. They actually try to protect spawning lake trout up there. What a concept!! However, I have a hunch we're both fishing some similar "moving" waters that are not allowed to be named.
Kyle--The fish are all stacked up in the bay, but the bigger ones are pretty lock-jawed for the most part. As you know, I don't take part in the snagging operations that are beginning to start. Been catching some 2-12 pounders in the mouth with jigs though, but not in any high numbers. Fish are still spread out from the deeper outside to the edges of the rock piles.

Spent last week up there. The fishing sucked but I can't recall better weather for my whole vacation time. Saw a few smaller fish taken in linwood but thats it. We found some small macks and rainbows for my grandson elsewhere. They are stacking in the bay and there is some "aggressive" jigging going on as has already been noted. But still, couldn't pay me enough to stay away from that pond. I'll be back. Good Luck on your trip.

No worries Cap'n. I am not a drag and snag fisherman (if you call them fisherman).
I wouldn't mind connecting with some healthy pups for the table. Truth be told, I really just want to get into something that will tug a bit. It has been a long summer with limited fishing, so something has to keep me happy until 'hard deck' season!
Maybe we can convince you to leave your house this winter and come out for some burbot fishing....I'll throw an extra cot in the tent for you.
