This is why we do it... Reports w/ pics
#1
Catfish77 (Justin) and I went out on our float tubes today. Had an absolutely amazing day on the cuts and bows.

We were on the water about 8:00am and thought we were in for it when we could hear the wind whipping thorugh the trees on the ridges. Kicked around a nice calm cove alternating between tube jigs tipped with worms (just about any color) and wooly buggers (black leech) on our fly rods. The wind and rain never hit and about 20 minutes into being there we didnt experience much weather other than HEAT for the rest of the day.

We found that they were biting just off of the shoreline in depths from 6-8 ft most commonly. We had a bites almost every cast for the better part of the day and landed a good amount of fish. We kept our limit (which was achieved early in the day) and put some big fish back. All in all a very rewarding trip..

In the pics you can see Justin's big fish of the day (released) which was a 21 inch bow and FAT.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the pics!

Them be some fatties! Pretty colors on the mugs. Sounds like you guys found some of that hot fall bite.
Thanks for the details on what patterns and depths were working.
I didn't see you mention where you were. Do you mind sharing that? (pm is fine it you want to keep it on the lowdown)

Nice pix - good post. Thanks.

Let me guess...
I'm probably wrong....
looks like lost creek
with the water down.

Catch them Slimers,
big phat bows.
Release a few,
let em grow.

Keep the ones
with nice pink meat,
Onto the smoker,
Induct some heat.

Pass me a filet,
if you please
Served wit a big bowl
of Mac-N-Cheese.

It gets no better,
no how no way.
Unless your slamming Wipers
on ole willard bay.

Peace out...

My guess is Lost Creek as well. The mix of Bows and Cuts makes sense for there. And the canyon looks right too. [Smile]

Well done ya guessers - once was lost, now it's found. There's a couple lakes up that way that show some good promise. A bit far for me, but might be worth the venture!

Good one there - sounds like something Gollum might sing.

Well why in the hell report something if you aren't going to say where it is and help people catch fish?

I don't report all of my fishing trips, because I have some areas that I like to keep secret too. [:p]

There's plenty of information in that report to help you catch fish. And, there are very obvious photos of where we fished. How about take a wild guess and go exploring! I don't think that exact name of every fishin' hole needs to be mentioned in every report. Some spots could use less pressure.

AGREE 100%. Do you think Lost Creek is one to keep secret? Just asking, been years since I have been there.

Some post could be a PM if you wanna know more, nothing wrong with that.
And nothing wrong with wanting to show off a great day...keep em coming.

Why am I the one getting jumped all over when your buddy ReelMasta put LOST CREEK in his silly poem too?

I explore plenty, and have found my own "secret" spots. LOST CREEK is not a secret spot, if you think it is, then you need to get out fishing more.

ROLF. Ya'll do crack me up sometimes.

And here I am pouring gas on a fire, then go and pee on it to put it out.... (scratch-n-sniff).

Sorry - I've never been to "ls" - the place not named - (kinda like Voldemourt - duoh! I shouldna said that!). So I wouldn't be able to recognize a photo of it, but it looks pretty - part of why I asked. I did offer the pm-path when I first asked. And you were kind enough to send - graci.

Idaho board has a guessing game for their lakes. That might be kinda fun, and educational.

Sorry - but I like putting landmarks, give-aways in my photos, when I can. But might be ya gotta get there to find the spot. I've learned about so many new waters from this board. Many I may never visit (distance, time...blah blah). And then I read the Wipers are hitting at Willard - so I'm called to the skunk pond again...... Lord grant us the humility....

back to - however you want to do it, please do post. always good to know there's fish out there - somewhere.

I think we should put the poem to music. Then Koch woudn't have to read it. Kinda like books on tape, or waiting for the movie to come out. [:p]
