Need Cedar City info on fishing spots

My daughter has a one day softball camp in Cedar city this saurday and i need to kill 5 hours and i want to do it fishing. Anyone know any good places around that area ?

If you head east up Cedar Canyon there is Navajo Lake. Depending on the weather you could make Kolob. Both lakes have trout, Kolob is artificial flies and lures only. Head west past the airport towards Beryl there is Newcastle. Newcastle has trout, smallmouth, and wipers.

How far is newcastle from Cedar? I would love to get into some wipers. Is it fishable from shore or do you need a boat?

It is 30 miles from Cedar. It is fishable from shore. I haven't fished it for sometime so I don't have any reports. Here are directions.


Head west on UT-56 W/W 200 N toward N 1225 W
Continue to follow UT-56 W
