Should be the last thursday of this month. Usually in the early afternoon. Released in several locations. I usually fish glenwood or BSU campus after class.

The fish are A-Run steelies form the Hell's Canyon trap. If you know anyone that has been fishing below the dam, the average sized fish there would be representative of the fish getting dumped in the Boise River.

When I fish for steelies in the Boise, I use my trout rod w/6 lb. test. I laugh at the dudes down there with huge salmon rods and 20 lb test. They're hatchery fish and they're little for the most part. I did see one that was probably pushing 10 lbs last year, but the ones I caught were 4-5 lbs at best.

the fish in general all around are bigger this year. there was an article in the lewiston tribune about more big fish coming back this year. they said most of the fish are averaging heavier and that the fish and game had up the b-run count again to just over 70,000 b-runs returning.
