Just having some fun!
#1
Didn't know exactly where to post this so I took a shot at here. Fishing reports, etc. are slowing down with cold weather and big game hunting so I thought I'd just try to have some fun and liven up things a bit? [laugh] Hope I'm not doing something "dumb". [shocked] I'm having more and more personal satisfaction with water, action shots. They seem more interesting to me then some one holding a fish. Several of you guys are doing the same. Trying for some jumping but hard from a tube with rod in hand. [frown]
Anyway, here's a pic. What is it and where? Obviously the where is tough so when the post runs it's course I'll give it up Hope we can get some enjoyment from this kind of post. [Smile][Smile]

I have a pretty good idea. I fished it Friday and Saturday and it was very, very good. I doubt it will be half way decent again until May though with all this nasty weather.

So was that Nope to Pineview, or Nope to a Musky?

Could it be a Newton musky then?

Here's another fish in water pic.

I agree bass, but farther North (ID)

Polarized lens filters are cool too. You will capture what you can see with sunglasses.

Well, so much foe that. Too many folks know my posts I guess or too obvious. Was hoping for a little more fun, oh well. [img]../../../images/gforum/frown.gif[/img]
No it isn't a musky and it isn't Newton or the Pine. It is a bass and it is in ID. (Flygoddess and Fin) But it's a LM. Don't have the fancy stuff like filters, etc,, just a old cheap digital held in one struggling hand but it's fun trying. [laugh][laugh]

I had fun, Thanks for posting. I got in too late on this one, but another one in the future would be fun as well.

Ditto on that - I think it was a nice venture - mix it up a bit. ('specially as the FISHn posts may drop off with deer season passing. )

Was down to Granma's in Layton today - and after seeing a nice 4pt inches away from their garden fence, and hearing there's a patch of 12 or so that migrate through - still don't know what that the HE-double toothpicks that stumbling feller was doing driving up to a vacant house next door, and 'looking around'. Bro-n-law is a wildlife cop, and had the specs on the license plate, so... WELL within city limits - c'mon people! May be last tag day, but seriously! Shouldn't have to wear hunter orange from the deck of a house within city limits!

Ok - so here is an in-the-water shot of a fish. It's been part of a post in the past, so you can guess, or do your homework.
Any takers? What kind of fish - where from (general even).

My son tells me he's done fishing this season. I'm thinnin' we've got a warm patch waiting beyond this first snow. Maybe some fall bass or trout action - anyone been to Mantua lately? Me thinks it's next. The cold should have dropped the weeds at least. Driving past this morning - the lake looked empty. Maybe a touch of frost along the edges. Dunno for sure.

Fall Crappie and Walleye? Isn't that supposed to happen? And what to the Kitties do as it chills out?

It's definitely some kind of salmonoid. Maybe a chum salmon, or possibly a bull trout? As for fall time bass, I think that's largely over for the year. Not that you won't catch them, but I don't think it will likely be fast action. The water has to be down in the low 40s now. Trout should be really good though. The browns and brookies will be spawning soon, and the reservoir trout should be shallow and active. I'm hoping to get a couple more trout excursions in soon before it turns to a frozen foggy hell here.

I don't see any confirmation or denial posted yet. [:/] As far as I'm concerned. [url "http://../../../cgi-bin/community/community.cgi?do=user_page;pg=user_profile_view.html;username=slimerslayer"]slimerslayer[/url] is right, bull trout, but I cheated and didn't comment until the guessing was "done"? If So, let's move on to [url "../../../cgi-bin/community/community.cgi?do=user_page;pg=user_profile_view.html;username=gstott"]gstott[/url]'s entry. [Smile][Smile][Smile][Smile] Love the interest in this. [Smile][Smile][Smile][Smile]
