Jordanelle Question
#1
Hey everyone!
I've been reading the boards for quite awhile but this is my first time posting. You all seem to know a lot so I'm hoping you can help me with my pretty easy question...
I've never fished Jordanelle before but I've been thinking about heading up there. The only thing that's stopping me is that I have a small problem paying the $9 fee. I was wondering if there was anywhere I could go to fish from the shore where I could avoid having to pay. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Welcome to the board! I haven't been to Jordanelle for 2 years, but we are going to have a perch party up there on Sept. 6th. Feel free to join in if you'd like. I know what you mean, $9 is pretty steep. It should be $9 if you're going to launch a boat, but not just to get in. $5 is a lot fairer just to fish the shore I'd think, especially the rock cliff side which has no marina. Anyway, there have been a few posts about places to get to the shore without going to the state parks, but I know you have to walk a ways to get there. I'm sure those who are more familiar with Jordanelle can tell you more than me.

Welcome aboard. Sorry I don't know of anywhere ethier but I'll keep an ear out. If you do find some place let me know. I've been wanting to go fish it as well but I hate to pay fees. If your going to go out to willard I can tell you how to do that but so can most people on this site

Hey Gal,

You have the same first name as my youngest daughter! Welcome! I assume you are a female, based on your handle and name although your name can be either. This gives me 2 reasons to try and help. By the way, I'm an old guy so don't take any offense!!

There are 2 ways that I'm aware of to get in without paying fees. I'm cheap so that's what I do. I float tube so I don't worry about a boat but have to carry the tube. If I can do it at my age you can too! If you boat, I can't help you.

The first is take the Hailstone turn off and take the first(?) left that travels along the East side of the resevoir to the north. That will eventually end up at a gate which you can park by or continue back towards the south and and park and walk down from there to the bays. I'm vague about this area since it's been a while since I've done this. As I remember if you stay above and can go further north and park and walk down to the bays but when I was there a few years ago it got kind of rough because they were putting in roads for homes, etc. and I don't know what it's like now. My normal way of going in involves more walking. I take the hightway 189(?) towards Kamas(?) on the north end of the lake (about 3 mi.s?) and drive down the road that dead ends above the north end of the lake. I believe this is the second paved road, the first is gated far up for maintenace, etc. and no tresspassing, I think! I then walk donwn that road (a little less than a mile) where it dead ends in a bay. Of course you can drop down any time along this road and fish the north east part or walk around and fish the north west part.

You can always park along the highway somewhere on the east or south side and walk down but I wouldn't recommend it for lots of reasons.

Hey fishingal,

Welcome to the sight I look forward to your posts. Let us know how you do if you get up there. I might be fishing from shore at the perch party if I don't my truck ready to pull my boat.
