New Episodes of "Hookin Up" and "Reel Fish Jobs" Premier This Week

DENVER, CO. - NOV. 5, 2010 - Two WFN Original Productions, Hookin' Up with Mariko Izumi and Reel Fishy Jobs with Mark Melnyk air all new episodes this week following the season premiere of both shows last week on WFN: World Fishing Network, North America's only 24-hour fishing lifestyle network.

With her rod, reel and bikini packed, Mariko Izumi is once again traveling the globe in pursuit of fishy adventures. This week, on Monday, November 8, at 7:30 pm ET Mariko will take viewers to Ocean City, Maryland with her local fishing buddies Nick Honachefsky and Sean Reilly. A highlights of the show includes competing in the White Marlin Open where they caught a 1010-lb Blue Marlin and a BlackTip shark. For his second episode of Reel Fishy Jobs with Mark Melnyk, airing on Thursday, November 11 at 7:30 pm ET, Melnyk takes on perhaps his most dangerous job of the season - working aboard the crab vessel Starwalker and fishing in the north Atlantic. He joins the crew to help haul in close to 5000 pounds of orange gold. Then, he spends a day at the processing plant getting the crab he just caught ready to be sold to the public. Hookin' Up with Mariko Izumi follows the world's sexiest angler on her journey to meet the coolest people in the hottest fishing spots. At each stop, Mariko is charged with completing fishing-related tasks while exploring the local fishing scene. Whether she's on the water with some of the best anglers or partying at the wildest hotspot, Mariko's inviting style offers viewers a fun and fresh look at each destination. Her 2010-2011 travel dossier also includes stops in Boca Grande, FL; Toronto, ONT; Lake Powell, AZ; St. Thomas, USVI; Cabo, San Lucas, Mexico; Langara Island, BC; Atlanta, GA; and Denver, CO.

Reel Fishy Jobs with Mark Melnyk gives viewers a new understanding of what fishing for a living is all about as Melnyk tackles the toughest, messiest and most outrageous jobs in commercial fishing, conservation and recreational fishing. Some of his jobs will include: serving as a research assistant at the Cape Eleuthera Institute in the Bahamas; working as a Veterinary Assistant at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago; manufacturing and repairing boats at Hell's Bay Boatworks in Titusville Fla; competing as a pro angler in an FLW Tour event in Lake Champlain; and serving as an environment fishing guide at the Queen Charlotte Lodge in British Columbia.

Hookin' Up with Mariko Izumi serves as the lead-in to WFN's "Big Bass Monday," while Reel Fishy Jobs with Mark Melnyk leads into WFN's "Inshore Saltwater Thursday" - two of the network's primetime theme nights -- two-hour blocks of themed programming dedicated to all aspects of the pastime, airing nightly, 8:00 pm-10:00 pm. ET. The six "WFN Theme Nights" this season are: Big Bass Monday; Fly Fishing Tuesday; Offshore Saltwater Wednesday; Inshore Saltwater Thursday; Freshwater Friday; and World Fishing Saturday.
