what kind of flys are you using if you dont mind me asking. i was over at the marina the other morning i took my fly rod but never took it out. caught 1 fish around 26 inches and that was it

1" minnow jig. 1/16 oz head ! Reel looking fish head & body. you need a two handed spey rod to cast !

thats half the reason i didnt break out the flyrod... i didnt think my 5 wt would hold... but i was still tempted.

A 5wt rod will hold a 10lb fish, But it wont cast a 16oz jig ! Thats why I'm using a 10 wt spey rod 15 foot long . Really I'm just new to spey fishing . Sooo I'm practicing how to use it....I've also caught cut's & carp in the same water on the same day with the same setup..."go figure"
