New ice flasher

Hello,
Just purchased a new Hummingbird 35 Ice flasher. Have fished with a buddies before and really like it. Do any of you have one or similar, what kind of results (positive / negative). Any tips for use? I wanted the 45 but Sportsmans and Cabellas were both out when I was there.
