Norman and I got out today for 1/2 day of fishing. North wind blowing a little bit and it was chilly early, but we stuck with the game plan and hit some spots that held crappie, although they weren't biting too good. 7 fish at the first stop, 4 or 5 next stop and so on til it was time to stop for the day. We never really got into what we would call a hot bite. We ended up with 24 crappie, 3 small bass, 1 catfish, and 1 rock bass. We used bobby garland 2" shads in various colors to land most fish. I did use a 2" panfish assassin to add a few crappie to our totals. Color didn't seem to matter. They were reluctant to bite any colors today. emoBigSmile

We used 1/16 oz jigheads and the fish were deep most of the day. Thanks for taking me, Norman. There will be other days when the fish will be more active than they were for us today. emoGeezer
