First ice of the year
#1
Did my first ice fishing of the year at Utah lake. There was about a 1/4" on my favorite little marina. Kicked a whole in it and sent down a sonar jig. No white bass were in there yet never got a hit in 15 minutes of fishing so I left. With white bass they are either there or there not. Last time this year they were so thick I was catching them three at a time on my two hook sonar

[cool]So, you kicked a hole through the ice in 7 ft or less of water and you are surprised you didn't catch any? Perhaps there weren't any whities in there at the time, but there may have been and you may have made them boogie to the other part of the marina as well...

Good to hear about the ice forming though... It's supposed to get up to 40 on Saturday but if it stays below that like it's supposed to the rest of next week, we should have some safe fishable ice there real soon...
