drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 11/22/10, alone
#1
I went out today around 10:00 to catch some crappie for dinner. I had to move around a bit especially after the wind got up really strong and made it difficult to fish some places that I wanted to fish. But, I managed to get 10 over 12" for dinner. I threw back one fish that was about 11" long. He just wasn't tall enough to ride the Tyner Lane shuttle. Most of my fish came on 1/16 oz jigs with a 2" bobby garland shad in the bone white/chartreuse color. Fish were not too deep today. Some on a 4 count. I fished a roadbed until the wind got up. I hooked up on what was probably a big bass with a silver buddy, but it came unplugged after a short fight. It was a very heavy fish.

After the wind came up, I just hopscotched around from dock to bluff to dock to catch our supper. I saw Reliable with his son this AM. Later on as I was running back to the ramp to quit for the day, I saw Bassert with a guest sitting on a bluff. I idled over and asked him if this was the only place that he could catch crappie today ( emoBigSmile emoPoke ) and he said yes, so I left him alone after a short conversation and meeting his friend. I don't like white capping at all. It was nice out there temp wise though. The water temp was 61.9 when I quit a little after 1:00 pm. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
