Got on the water at 7:30 this morning and started look for some bass. Started our search in the back of a slough. Caught two bass on spinnerbaits and started working back out to the river. As i was idling out i saw a large school of fish on the structure scan. I can tell from looking at the air bladders on the screen what type fish they are most of the time. I had not saw returns like this before and had to know what it was. We threw out a marker bouy and started to fish around it. We caught around 40 to 50 crappie off that school. It was non stop action for an hour...Caught a nice 14" TARP...you know that you are on some great fish when you are disappointed in 12" crappie...lol...All the fish we caught today were in 8 to 15ft on water and where holding on main river points. The only color we could get them to hit was a BG Blue Ice with a tail light. We left that spot and headed to another main lake point to see if the pattern would hold up...it did...caught around 20 to 30 off that spot before calling it quits. Water temp today was 58...great morning on the water.
