I am thinking of going to Pelican Lake over the 3 day weekend. Has anyone been by there lately?What is it looking like. We will be taking rafts so the ramp doesn't matter.As always thanks for any info.

The water is very low, but should be OK if you're launching rafts. The weeds are thick. The fishing has been excellent as always and there has been very little pressure lately. There probably will be quite a few people over the holiday. There have been some very big bass coming out lately. Try top water if the wind comes up.

Hey Kayote,

Since I sleep outside, essentialy, old tent trailer full of holes, am concerned about the mosquitos. Are they still pretty thick? How long do you think I'll have to wait? Mid Oct., untill after the first good freeze?

Hey Leaky,

The bugs have already started to thin out. If you wait till mid october, the gills may be down for the year. Those first few cool nights in early september should have them all cleared out. Good luck to you.
