Utah Lake State Park Question
#1
Got a question about the State Park area at Utah Lake, especially in the marina. That is the closest place for me to go and fish, and I have been wanting to take my 4 year old daughter out for some ice fishing. I'm fairly new to the game, so still trying to learn the ropes of the hard deck.

Does anyone have some tips for me in the marina area where I can get some decent fishing so I can keep my 4 year old interested? It's not going to be a long trip obviously, but want to introduce her at least to ice fishing this year and hopefully catch fish steady enough so that she wants to go again and doesn't think it's boring. I know nothing is guaranteed, but just some hints that will give us the best chance to catch some fish. Don't care what species it is or how big/small they are. Just want to catch some fish. Anyone willing to share some info on the area to help us out? I assume the ice is safe there now...anyone been out?

I would set the kid up with 2 poles in holders near each other and have you with another 2 very near jigging....if you each have the permits...if not then just use one. Ice flies and Kastmasters tipped with worm. You may have to move quite a bit, but give each area 10 mins then move. Near or on the bottom. Strike indicators are a must in my opinion as the bites are way small and may go unnoticed with out one.

Thanks for the advice. How deep is the water there in the marina?
