fly through the ice

Has any one had luck using a traditional fly through the ice. Such as a hares ear or larva patarn of some sort. I was thinking that with the finiky bighters at mantua a small fly might do the trick.

You may want to PM BigFishTaco. He had a rig he used last year with flies he had tied himself and he had a decent measure of success...

That's mostly what I ice fish with. Midges, Copper Johns, glow bugs, pheasant tails, and buggers.
