Will the Perch ever make a comeback at Rockport?
I remember about 6 years ago, you couldn't keep them off your hook.
They were nice size fish back then.
I see Pineview and Echo are making a comeback but I don't see it happening at Rockport.
Your thoughts?

Perch are cyclic. I have seen the boom and bust cycle in just about every lake I've fished. I've also seen people talk about it on these forums on lakes I haven't like Yuba, and Rockport.
It is happening to a few of the lakes I fish in Wyoming too.
I don't know what causes it? But I know that very low water can do the trick or at least help cause a problem.
Maybe Drew could chime in.

When you have low water (40') or more and then have the lake raze when or just after the spawn it can kill the 3 to 4 year old perch spawners.. And with how slow the perch grow they just don't get the chance to come back..
