Late winter steelhead fishing is holding up well and both the Snake and Clearwater are fishing well. This trend will continue until the fish make a final move to the tributaries in February or March. The Clearwater has been producing some nice B-run fish in the mid to upper teens while most fish on the Snake are under the 10 lb. mark. The exception on the Snake is in the impounded areas below Asotin and downstream to lower Granite Dam where the larger Clearwater fish are milling around.

osprey02 hit it right on the nose from the info I have--we do have one of our guides on a personal trip in the upper Canyon (Kirby Cr. area and above), I'll post a report as soon as he is back in town---

Holy high water! You name it rain and warm thawing temps making the river damn near unfishable near Stites. Its running at 1200 cfs! UGGHHH! Don't go until you guys see the flows get lower. Fun weekend but alot more beer got drank then fishing done. Lots of sediment in the river right now, very turbid.

I was on the SF as well. It was OK Saturday but then the flows went up with no end in sight. Lots of debris (trees/junk) and tons of ice. It peaked over 3,000 CFS. No fish to report either.
