Dove Hunting at Pelican

I need to know if you can hunt doves around pelican?

Out past the boat ramp is BLM land. You shouldn't have any problem on that side. Anywhere else and I'd be very careful of private and Ute land.

I had some decent luck last year by Brough Res. It's maybe 2 miles away. I got my limit after a couple of hours, and I'm a terible shot with a shotgun. If you don't know where it is, I think the dwr has directions to it on their fishing site. Good luck!

Only some of the land by the boat ramp at Pelican is BLM. The majority is private and some is tribal. I would be very careful in that area. Better find out ownership definitively before you go, not all the tribal is posted. The tribe comes down hard on poaching on their land. Just a word to the wise. There is a piece of DWR ground on the north side of the lake that is well defined and has birds. It's where the old primative ramp is by the inflow canal. That would be a very good area.
