I took my brother out fishing last week. After having 3 kids in the last 3 years, he hasn't had much opportunity to get out. Despite the cold and the wind we were able to catch a couple nice trout and he got to catch his first sturgeon. Needless to say, we had a great time. If you or someone you know is in need of a recharge, go fishing. There's nothing better.

Here's a nice video of Seth landing his first ever sturgeon on Saturday.

that section is just barely down stream from the dam at strike and we run it with a jet. you can do it with a prop you just have to watch the depth since some areas are pretty shallow. the sturgeon are going to be caught in the main chanel though which is 6 - 10 feet deep in most places so a prop should be ok. also you can catch sturgeon on the reservoir too. go up the snake arm a ways and fish the deeper holes.

we put in right below the bridge last time. grand view is a nicer ramp but to get to the decent sturgeon holes you have to run a ways and some of it can be pretty shallow. If youre going to do it with a prop, put in at the bridge and stay within a few miles. really watch the depth too. The water level can change fast down there. also if you put in at the bridge, there is a shallow sand bar right off the ramp so be carefull getting in. It will be a lot easier if you do it when the spill way is open and the water is high. might be impossible at low water.

be careful wiht the ramp by the bridge the sand bar is nasty sometimes and to make things worse if its cold at asll the ramp will get ice on it and you will get stuck trying to come up the ramp

Hey, what about the guy behind the camera...he gets no credit? [mad]
I agree, that boat ramp is BS. Who maintains it...F&G or Idaho Power? For all the power that river is generating you'd think they could afford a nice ramp. Should we start a petition?
