Tampa Tribune Annual Outdoors Expo & Boat Show Celebrates 20
#1
TAMPA, FLORIDA - The Tampa Tribune Outdoors Expo & Boat Show hosted by Frank Sargeant, Florida's largest outdoors expo, celebrates a very special milestone Friday, March 4 through Sunday, March 6, 2011. For the twentieth consecutive year, the Expo will feature continuous hands-on, how-to entertainment, presentations from a variety of outdoors experts, a shopping extravaganza and boat show in a family-friendly country-fair atmosphere.

The Expo boasts 140,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space plus outdoor display areas and several lakes. This year's Expo will include dozens of boat dealers and more than 150 exhibitors. Whether your passion is boating, saltwater or freshwater fishing, cast netting, fly fishing, hunting, dog training or kayaking, the Tampa Tribune Outdoors Expo is the place for you.

Hosted by Frank Sargeant

Tampa Tribune outdoors correspondent Frank Sargeant once again serves as the Expo's official host. A past president of the Florida Outdoors Association and author of more than a dozen books, Sargeant is one of Florida's most popular and respected outdoors gurus.

"The Expo has something for everyone," says Sargeant. "From the smallest angler, to teens, to Mom and Dad, we'll have an amazing selection of seminars, outdoors activities and merchandise."

Special Guests and New Wrinkles

Fly fishing legend Lefty Kreh returns this year for his third Expo appearance. One of the world's foremost authorities on fly fishing and fly casting, the affable Kreh will speak twice on Saturday, March 5 and once on Sunday, March 6.

Captain J.W. Moreno, who fishes the FLW and B.A.S.S. tournament series, will be making his first Expo appearance, speaking all three days.

Many of Tampa Bay's best known TV and radio anglers will also be appearing, including Captains Mike Anderson and Billy Nobles of the "Reel Animals," Captain Bill Miller of "Hooked on Fishing" and Glen Pla of "Average Angler Adventures." Four dozen seminars on every fishing subject imaginable are scheduled for our four stages.

Among the new additions this year will be "The Archery Experience" presented by The Archery Shop. Experienced hunters will get a chance to "test drive" the newest bows, and children will have the opportunity to handle age appropriate bows and arrows.

The Devore Labradors Kennel returns with demonstrations on pointing and retrieving as well as a variety of dog training tips on all three days of the show. Cast net demonstrations, rock climbing and a number of special giveaways are also on the agenda. On Saturday and Sunday, kids can participate in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Kids Fishing Derbies staged by "Get Reel."

Admission to the Expo is FREE FOR ALL AGES on Friday, March 4. Admission for ages 13-and-up is only $8.00 on Saturday and Sunday. Parking at the Fairgrounds is five dollars.
