What kind if fish is this?
#1
I picked this little guy and another up August 2010 from the shallows in lake mead. They were only 2inchs at the time, doubled in size now... but I still can't figure out what they are. Can anyone look at pic and tell me what I have here?

thanks

Pretty cool looking fish. its gills glow green under the aquarium light.

was out fishing and my little cousin swam around and caught them in a bucket. He wanted to keep them, I couldn't make out what they were at the time, since they were mostly black. He couldn't take it home to LA, so I kept them in my tank w/ some blood parrots.

Now the colors turn up... I've never seen this before; I was hoping for a LMB.

They totally have that cichlid look. I used to have a ton of South American cichlids and they all had that same glow lines in there cheeks. They look pretty cool. Thats some nice bucket work to catch those guys. Smile

they are VERY aggressive. as small as they are, they actually try to bite my arm when we were in the shallows looking for them.
