Sport clam and oyster season to reopen at Penrose Point State Park
#1
Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season at Penrose Point State Park will open March 1, 2011.

Effective date: March 1, 2011 until further notice.

Species affected: All clams and oysters.

Location: Penrose Point State Park. The park is located in Pierce County on Carr Inlet.

Reason for action: Surveys indicate that the clam and oyster populations will support a three-month fishery. The park tidelands were closed in 2010 due to overharvest in 2009.
