Some of you have been waiting to see pics of the permanent ice house. I don't have a lot of time but I thought I would post a few to let you all see what it looks like. It has been fun this winter. I will probably spend some time there this presidents day weekend.

I saw this out there on Wed when I sat in the wind freezing my butt off and thought how nice it would be to have 4 walls and a fire to keep warm.
Maybe I will see you out there on Monday!

That is really cool. Great way to keep the kids comfy.
Does it break down into the roof, floor and walls sections. Even then it must be fun to transport.
I saw a film on some of the midwest lakes and their ice mansions. What a hoot. They have regular streets and shops out on the ice!

Cool pictures, I like your ice hut. The picture of your little guy with his wet feet reminds me of my boys. About everytime I take them one of them puts a foot down a hole. Looks like you guys had fun on your sleep over.

very cool. Looks like it folds down for summer and packing it in and out. Pretty slick. Wouldn't take up lots of room to store it either.
Is this your first year with it? What would you add for next season?
I am guesssing you leave it out for the season, maybe I missed something. Do you stake it down somehow? I would think it would catch the wind pretty good out there and you could come back to find it up against the bank, tipped over, or something.

It does break down. Each wall folds up and the roof is in three sections. We are leaving it out there for the season. We did stake it down after it blew off of the blocks.
