Untangler and I met up at Cascade yesterday along with my friend Jason. It wasn't the best day by far, but it wasn't too bad either. Looking forward to going out with UT again. What a joker. Good times.

NIce pics. I sure wish I could make it up there this year, but its just not going to happen. O'well it gives me something to look forward to next season. I just hope they don't crash before I get a chance to go there.

I recall the Perch fishing at Cascade being awesome in the mid to late 70's. Even the bankers were spanking them.
Not sure what made them disappear or why they are back. I do know I have fished it on a regular basis for about the last 10 years and it seems like about 2 maybe 3 years ago there were signs of them getting to be a good size.
Obviousley based on the pics from this winter, and I know from last summer they are huge!

wow buggy ! you may have an opertunity for a lucrative guiding service ! as a idapoe native i can remember my grandfather taknig me there perch fishing in the 70's. all the perch looked like the hawgs buggy was catching. i know the f & g netted a lot of squawfish a few years back.i think for several years there may have been too many perch. i had gone up there and seen hundreds of " clouds"of dink perch. now maybe the smallmouthes coming on maybe the perch are fewer and now there is more food for them ? who knows but i am glad they are back !

Thanks for the taking me ice fishing for the first time Bug. Frankly, I never saw the appeal before but became interested after seeing so many positive posts on this site. It was much funner than I thought it would be and I'm hooked. My wife asked me to thank you because now she can get me out of the house year round.
My dad took me to Cascade in the 70's and we caught some nice perch but I haven't seriously fished it until the last three years. It is a big lake and the fishing can be real spotty but if you put your time in, it can be good. The perch fishing speaks for itself but there are also some big trout and cohos and the smallmouth fishing is surprisingly good. I'll be spending a lot of time there this year.
As far as the Bug becoming a fishing guide.........he definitely has enough game but his bedside manner could be improved. After about the tenth time of him frantically pointing to a rod and yelling at me:
"DUDE, YOU DON'T HAVE A BITE"
I wouldn't have tipped him.

The look on your face was tip enough. LOL. I'd love to have some video of you and Jason racing to see who could get to the rods first when they had a bite....
