fish identifacation

fishing off the shore in Ft.Pierce FL with my family i was useing live shrimp and hooked a fish little fight but was preety easy to get up and it looked like a the head of a read fish but it was just silver i have a pic kinda the fish has sand all over it was ent very big but i cant find anything any help ? if it helps

Pretty sure I know what you're talking about. It's called a Whiting (AKA southern kingfish or a gulf kingfish or kingcroaker) Same family as redfish, much smaller, less fight. Here's a link to a picture.
