I took a little break today form Ice fishing. We shoved off from Byington around 7am. Started to pick off a few fish as soon as we pushed off. Pulled into Lorenzo around 2pm. We boated around 25- 30 fish anywhere from 12" to 18" mostly brown's but we got 1 rainbow & 2 Cutts. All fish were caught on Rapalas.
We seen a ton of wild life. Lots of moose, Deer, Geese, Swans, Ducks, Beaver, Eagles. The weather was beautiful. It was nice to take a break from the Ice fishing But I would like to see another month of ice [crazy]. Summer will come soon enough.

Sounds like fun. I am kind of itching to get out on the river . It might be awhile, but I am getting tired of ice fishing.

I went on the 5th as well fly fishing and well I had a great day as well. Not as many fish as above but I did catch 2 browns being 18'' and 14'' and one rainbow around the 14'' range. I was using a rubber leg with split shot 8 inches above the fly to get it down. Only fished one place for 2 hours. Also caught around 20 whitefish. Trout were a bit farther out closer to the seem.

Wind River, I didn't think I would ever hear you say that you are getting tired of ice fishing.

I still like ice fishing, but I just don't have a chance to go anywhere new in the next few weeks. The oxygen levels are dropping, the fish are getting more spooky, the ice will soon be scary. (I'm more scared of late ice than new ice). Anyway I am looking forward to you taking for a ride in your drift boat when we get a chance.
