This is a report of the trip I made with StickRig last week in the heise area. Sorry it is late but it took a while to get the photos from the camera.
We left Rexburg around 7am and headed out to the hot spring area. We had scoped out a few places and got some tips from the forum so we decided to start at our lucky spot. We both managed to land 1 fish pretty quick and StickRig caught another 2 before we left that area about 1 hour later.
The wind was blowing hard and the snow was falling so it was nice to warm up in the car as we headed to the wolf flats area. We found a nice little spot and managed to land about 12 more fish between the 2 of us before lunch time. Nothing really big but a bunch of browns and some hybrids in the 10-14" range.
We ate lunch at the pizza/golf course at the springs and then fished the nice deep pool nearby. Stickrig again managed to catch about 3 fish in there in a matter of minutes and I just kept wetting my lure. This one particular brown had what looked like eggs in its belly but nothing came out...we thought maybe some kind of growth.
Once the weather turned we headed back to the nice hole in Wolf Flats and we managed to catch a few more fish. I finally managed to hook into something that was bigger then all the others that StickRig caught. A nice 16" brown.
We ended the day stopping at twin bridges on the way back to Rexburg. StickRig caught 3 cutthroats on a perch colored rapala right at sun down.
All the other fish were caught on silver Kastmasters. Thanks to everyone who gave us some info on when and where to fish.
