With the South Fork rising about 1 foot a day I am planning on heading north for the next few outings. Anyone have any advice on some good places to try?
I am in Rexburg and know the St. Anthony and Ashton area pretty well but have not fished up there much other than the easily accessible spots.

This time of year I would try the Vernon bridge access.

There really is no bad place on the HF this time if year...as long as you stay in the waters that are legal to fish. In my estimation the HF is the best river to fish from now to late June. You might try down stream from Chester dam, easy to wade and lots of fish. I was there last week did well on nymphs. Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I am heading out today with a buddy but he does not fly fish so wading will be an issue. I will have to head out there sometime when I am free to do as I please with my fly swatter!
What nymphs were doing well?

The river bottom is very slick , be carefull . Felt sole waders or boots with carpet glued to the bottom can make your wading safer . Good luck .
