Ice at Magic
#1
Looks like it's going fast [Wink],, I talked to a fella that caught some whoppers fishin from his belly boat,he showed me some pics on his camera, a couple looked like 5 plus pounders .
With the temps in the forcast my guess is ten days or less and we can launch, happy days are here again.[fishin]

Fished from the face of the dam today and caught some real nice ones. Talked to fish cops this morning and they said Hotsprings Landing has been real good but it has now turned very muddy.

Glad to hear someone is catching them. We were there on Thursday. Fished from shore at East Magic on fly rods and didn't catch a thing. Tried every trick. We went up to Hot Springs for a bit, but it was quite a muddy mess.

The Wood is still running clear but Camas is running muddy and ripping, Amazing how fast the water has been coming off the Prairie and desert.
The fella i talked to was fishing the big crack in the ice from Myrtle to the Eastside, seemed a little dangerous especially as hard as the wind has been blowing..
He was hooking up by dragging a blue and black Crystal bugger tipped with a small chunk of worm at about about 20'..
Any guess as to when ice off will be?

That's interesting about the guy dragging the bait-tipped bugger. 20' might explain why we weren't hooking up from the shore on the east side, even while dragging flies on the bottom.

On Thursday, the Wood was pretty dirty. We tried to fish it for an hour or so (closing day, after all) in the morning and I couldn't see my boots when above shin-deep. We drove back by in the afternoon and stopped and you couldn't see a foot. The amount of water running across the prairie between the county line and Fairfield was nuts. There was a good stream of water running through the property right behind our place.
