Hi Folks

Will be visiting Montreal in May (go there often on business). I will be staying near 'University' downtown but I am familiar with metro system etc.

Tried to find fishing tackle shops on the web without success. Please can you suggest a couple of names to look for?

I am looking for a baitcasting reel (conventional reel - US also sometomes known as casting reel?) reel - i.e. something like this

often used for predator fishing with lures (e.g. Pike/Bass etc)

Yes to your question, Bait Casting is the type of reel you are looking at.

to help you with a suggestion, you may want to give a price range that you are looking at spending. there are litteraly hundreds of different bait casting reels.

The other thing you may also want to include is the type of fish you wish to target.

many of the bait casting reels are realy rated for different size fish. and how you plan on fishing for them. ie casting or trolling.

I am asuming you are looking at peir fishing on the river?
