Fish Haven Cr - Bear Lake
#1
This was one of the projects presented last night by F&G. (I forgot to mention that)

I hadn't seen this video before about the Fish Haven Creek Project.

I knew that Fish Haven had been "fixed", but hadn't seen pictures of the return of the Bear Lake Cutts to the creek after 60 years. A great culmination to a project that has been many years in the making!!

We are all benefactors of projects like this. One natural creek can produce the equivalent of many hatchery trucks year after year.

Congratulations Trout Unlimited, Fish and Game, and all of the other project partners.

Ole Kirk's makin a pretty good name for himself. He was finishing up his masters at USU when I was finishing up my batchy.

That's great news and an awesome story. Thanks for sharing.

What I really like about these projects is the emphasis that is being placed on making it a win win situation for the farmers and the fish. Many of the ones I have seen or just been aware of in our area are being done by project committees that include locals, irrigation companies, farmers, and many other business interests, besides F&G, and groups like Trout Unlimited.

It is neat to see everyone working together to make it possible to help the fishing, but keep the farmers and ranchers in business.

It takes a lot of volunteer hours, a lot of grant money, and a lot of fund raising, but it is making a difference!
