Twin Lakes
#1
Has anyone been to twin lately? I haven't fished twin since I was a kid, but I still remember some great trips up there... Finally got a boat and would like to take my daughter up if it's still a good fishing hole. Is it open all year or does it still have an opening day? Guess I started fishing Henry's and haven't been back since... With gas prices this year I need to stay closer to home.

well im going to take it you know about the poisoning they did in the Earlie nineties they poisoned the whole place off there were thousands of dead fish!!! it was for the better as im sure you remember the horrible carp problem it had!! any way i fish it all the time and do very very well for blugill and perch over in the second lake!! as well as bass and crappie now and trout!! it has made a full recovery and this year and the next couple of years according to the fish and game are supposed to be some of the best we have had since pre poison!! right now its pretty cold still i was out there about a week ago in my tube and it was way cold still!! hooked into a couple trout!! i would suggest the beginning of the coming month may to take your daughter because by then it should be at the right level and the bluegill should be biting left and right as well as the perch!! right now its just to cold still!!! there out there right now just take a lot more persuasion to get a bite!! hope this helps you out!!

Thank you so much for the info, it's been over twenty years since I've been there and the last I heard it had been taken over by a private management company or something.. How does that work, do you still need a regular fishing license but you pay the company a fee for access? Also are the trout still catchable trolling? Thanks again for all the info

Yes trolling works great there. Also if you find a school just drop anchor and drop a worm and have fun. Jeremy is right, they are saying this is going to be a great yr for TWIN. With all this water we have in the FRANKLIN county twin will fill up great and the gills/bass will have there natural spawning grounds this yr. Always a great place to take kids fishing, its my lil daughters fav place to go in the summer[sly] Cant go wrong going to twin rather your on a boat or just sitting on the docks or bank...

JEREMY we should hook up and hit some of the preston area's soon. The walley are about in full swing of things down there its a great yr for them as well I would say.
