Spent Saturday and Sunday here with my wife and kids. Water is definitely running a bit high, but it's definitely fishable. We were throwing a sinker and a worm mostly, sometimes threading a corn salmon egg on with it. Honestly not sure the salmon egg was worth anything more than a bit of color. I was blowing up my worms most of the time, not sure whether the wife was or not.
The first day my wife pulled the only trout out and the next my son got his first fish ever and it was a pretty little rainbow (also the only trout for the day). Both were caught around 2-3pm. I couldn't pull anything in before about 6:30 either day, but dragging the bait along the bottom a bit netted bites from suckers for a little while. First day I caught three of them, second I caught two suckers, had another bite that I just didn't hook right and the bugger got away. Last cast I ended up pulling in a little mountain whitefish.
Sure feels good to catch something, even if it's not edible. Let my daughter reel in one of the suckers I caught, kept her interested, and I'm pretty sure my son is hooked on fishing at this point...he was really excited when his line tightened up from that rainbow.
