The spanish mackerel have arrived in murrells inlet. That means the kings will not be far behind them, closer to shore. I know they are catching kings farther offshore right now, as the water temps are right around 70 degrees. (surface temps) I haven't looked at the SST charts yet, but only because i'm a few weeks out being able to get to the ocean for a trip.
Cobia are in the area, in small numbers. I suspect in another week or two, they'll have made it to the MI area in full force. We got a couple last year just playing around, and i'm looking forward to targeting them this year. Hard to beat a nice cobia fillet blackend on the grill. Add some home fries, cole slaw, and a cold beer, and i'm good to go.
Hope to see everyone out there!
