Thanks for the post. .....Wear your life jackets boys (and girls), especially when the winds are bad.

I was wondering if anyone here knew the guys. Sounds spooky. I know all water is bad in bad weather. Strike is a place I flat out respect in any weather. An east wind came up on me a couple years ago. I was in the Bruneau arm side. The waves were so bad I thought I was not going to make it out. Last year at Oakley I spent some time talking to the Lord. This Idaho wind is a killer. Be careful out there. Ron

Scary... Makes me glad to have a 20' champion when Im out in some of those winds but I am always nervous. We have seen some crazy wind this year too - tournament we were fishing on Brownlee a couple weeks ago. Right before blast off the wind picked up and had waves coming over the bow - not fun. One of the other boats took on to much water and started to go down. Fortunately they were close enough to shore to not go under!

I remember about 4-5 years ago when they sunk 3 bass boats during the April tournament on Lake Lowell. It can be a very dangerous lake because it is shallow with few places to get out of the wind.

I remember that Smartweed. My son and I were in that tourney. We had the early weigh-in time and the wind wasn't real bad but by the time the last weigh-in boats came in, it was really gusting.

I was on CJ a few years ago when 4 - 5 ft waves and high winds came up. Fortunately I have a fiberglass deep V, and I just put my nose into the waves, turned on the pump, and slowly worked my way to the boat ramp. I even had to stop and tow in a guy with a small aluminum boat. I got cold and wet, but I never worried about sinking. Been some other times there where I've moved away from the wind and sat it out..
