Hello folks...
Left last night at 10:30.. did the speed limit the whole way and arrived at Kirch at 1:30a. Few minutes later, and I had the tent cot up and in bed by 2a.
Up at 7a.. on the water at Adams McGill by 8a. My truck had started making a weird noise so I decided to leave by noon in case I had any problems. The wind was supposed to calm overnite... WRONG. It was windy as heck this morning, but I decided to get out anyhow. I picked one up trolling a woolly bugger, but nothing else 'cept battling the wind the first hour... finally the wind calms a bit and I notice some birds getting insects on a patch of water so I go check it out.
I drop a hare's ear w/ a san juan worm dropper under a strike indicator and that's the ticket. I caught 6 more in the next two hours... all on the red san juan worm. I decided that was 'nough. Off the water at 11a. As I'm packing up the boat, the wind calms... go figure.. I even saw a couple of little ones rise near the dock as I'm packing.
I am used to catching quality fish there, but it wasn't my day today. I am happy with the seven that did bite though. I kept a limit and released two smaller ones. They all felt huge on the 3wt rod I was casting [
]. I am including two pics... one of my new tent cot and a pic of the stringer I took home.
I videotaped until the sd card was full.. Don't know what I have there yet until I get a chance to look at it. If there's anything good I'll edit the video and post it up.
Later,
